Justin Bieber says music he has recorded with Kanye West has a ‘New York vibe’
Justin Bieber has revealed that he is working with Kanye West on new music, describing the songs they have recorded as having a “New York vibe.”
Bieber is currently Number One in the UK with new single ‘What Do You Mean?’ and is working on a new album. Speaking in an interview with Clique, the pop star confirmed that he and West have collaborated, saying: “We did some stuff for the album, I don’t know if it’s going to make the album. Really cool, really New York vibe.”
“Kanye’s a talker,” Bieber added. “You get him in a room and he starts talking and ranting, I just sit and I listen. He’s been through a lot of stuff and he’s not just talking to talk, he has something to say from his heart. I just sit and listen because he’s really smart.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Bieber was asked what he would do if he was made President of the USA. The Canada born singer said he would tackle the problems the country has with gun violence.
“I’d probably fix some of the gun laws,” he said. “In Canada we don’t really have any guns and there’s no gun violence. That really solves it, that’s for protection but it always ends up in some bozo’s hand.”
Justin Bieber recently scored his first ever UK Number One single with ‘What Do You Mean?’ with the song breaking both the UK and Spotify global records for the most first-week streams.
The UK streaming record was only a month old at the time, having been set by One Direction for ‘Drag Me Down’ in August. The figure is a cumulative one, based on numbers from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play and others combined.
The single also topped the record for most single-week streams on Spotify, achieving nearly 22 million listens globally between its release on August 28 and September 4.
